His tweet read, “First-day w/ 4M or more. Also, it’s the first time averaging more than 3M per day over the past week. Millions coming together to accelerate our progress toward controlling the pandemic!” Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has emphasized that if people continue to take precautions and wear their masks, avoid large crowds and social gatherings then the road to recovery will be a short one.

Dr. Fauci, who is the chief medical consultant to President Joe Biden on the Covid 19,  has reaffirmed the fact that if a majority of the population gets vaccinated, life will be back to normal very soon. Dr. Fauci is sure that a positive outcome will be guaranteed very soon.

He stated, “We are going to get to where (people) want to be, where I want to be, where you want to be where we have enough people protected with the vaccines that we can go out and watch the cherry blossoms, and we can go out and enjoy as we get warmer weather. “It’s going to happen. It will.”

Dr. Fauci explained that as the rate of transmission of the Coronavirus decreases, revised guidelines will be released by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for those who are completely vaccinated and can remain safe from the virus.

“This is not going to last forever because every day you get 4 million, 3 million people vaccinated, you get closer and closer to control,” said Dr. Fauci. “So what we are saying is double down. Just hang in there a bit longer, and the vaccine and the vaccinations in this country are going to override the surge in the virus. There’s no doubt the vaccine is going to win out.”

According to reports by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention 104 million people have taken one dose of the Covid 19 vaccine. So far 59 million of this number have been fully vaccinated.  On Saturday, the CDC showed reports where the Covid 19 vaccine was administered to 161 million people.

According to the CDC, if people observe Covid 19 safety guidelines such as wearing a mask in public, practicing social distancing, and avoiding large crowds then those who have been fully vaccinated can travel through the country without having to worry about self-quarantine or taking a Covid 19 test. “More and more you will start seeing the advantages of getting vaccinated,” said Dr.Fauci.

People are considered to be fully vaccinated if they have received all the required doses and two weeks have passed since vaccination according to the CDC. Though there has been a massive improvement in the current situation health officials warn against relaxing precautions prematurely.

The Director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Rochelle Walensky expressed her continued concern over the effect of the virus and its variants. Dr. Walensky has strongly advised against people traveling during the pandemic unless necessary whether they are vaccinated or not. “I continue to worry that with 80% of the population unvaccinated that we still have a lot of work to do to control this pandemic,” Dr. Walensky stated.
